Gather Your Armies

NOTICE: This is not an endorsement by me for Rick Barber. I posted this because I really liked the ad. However, Rick Barber is a Fair Tax supporter, so people, be careful who you vote for.

Well, are we seeing a little circumspection coming from our dear patriot, Rose?

Visiting Rick Barber's website, I read the following:

Wednesday, June 02, 2010
Outspent 7 to 1, tea party candidate holds the line! Marine Corps veteran Rick Barber forces runoff election with establishment Republican!

MONTGOMERY - On June 1st, after being outspent 7 to 1 by the establishment-GOP's chosen candidate, Marine Corps veteran and tea party candidate Rick Barber forced a runoff election for the 2nd District's Republican nomination."

"This experience has been thrilling, overwhelming, exhilarating, but, most of all, humbling," said Rick Barber after learning that his campaign was going to be extended until July 13th."

Proceeding to his Tax Reform page, SURPRISE!

"Today’s tax code is oppressive and unreasonable, with tens of thousands of pages, endless loopholes, and nearly 80 billion dollars a year in compliance costs alone. We need to start over, and do so in a way that encourages entrepreneurship and fiscal responsibility.

"I fully support and will co-sponsor the FairTax bill. The FairTax replaces all income and corporate embedded taxes with a consumption tax. Under this system, workers receive their entire paycheck, and taxes paid correlate directly with spending. This bill has mechanisms to account for displaced accounting jobs and low income families, and will increase revenue while stimulating the economy.

"I categorically oppose the European- style Value Added Tax or the VAT. This is a hidden tax that increases the costs of goods and services at every level of production."

Daar, I only liked the ad, it's not an endorsement of the candidate. In fact, your right, I should put a disclaimer on the post to that effect. Thank's Daar.
