CAMPAIGN FOR LIBERTY DELIVERS A MESSAGE: AUDIT THE FED!!

There is certainly no denying that the American people have had plenty of “change” to worry about in the past year. TARP, Stimulus Packages, Omnibus Budget Acts, Card Check, Supplemental Military Appropriations, SCHIP, Cap and Trade, Health Care Proposals, high unemployment, and a weakening dollar, to name a few. As of today, over $12 trillion in bailouts and loans have been agreed to by Congress, the Treasury Department, and the Federal Reserve. With our national debt approaching $14 trillion, it is critical that we demand a full accounting of how the government is spending our money.

The Federal Reserve, the unelected central bank of the United States, with it's monopoly power over the creation of money and credit in our country has, once again, led us into a preventable economic meltdown. Yet the Federal Reserve has refused to tell Congress and We the People how it is spending our tax dollars, as it piles bailout on top of bailout and lends trillions to other nations, foreign central banks, and international corporations, all under a veil of secrecy, said to protect its “independence”. To add insult to injury, President Obama is proposing regulatory changes that will give this ”Lender of Last Resort” even more power by naming it the “Systemic Risk Regulator” over all financial institutions, including those “too big to fail”.

It is time the American People stand united and insist on a complete and public audit of the Federal Reserve and its 12 Regional Reserve Banks. Legislation in the Senate, The Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009 (S 604) is currently awaiting action by Senate Banking Committee Chairman, Chris Dodd (D-CT)

Without benefit of public town hall meetings during the August recess, Michigan constituents have been unable to deliver their opinions and instructions to our two absent Senators.

All Michigan citizens are encouraged to join the Campaign for Liberty, Tuesday, September 15 at 3:00 pm as we participate in a national action day, delivering thousands of petitions to our Senators, instructing them to co-sponsor S 604, and support a full audit of the Federal Reserve.

For those in SE Michigan, the Detroit rally will commence at Campus Martius, followed by a street march to Senator Debbie Stabenow's Detroit office, and then onward to the office of Senator Carl Levin.

Those who are unable to attend can lend their support by calling the Senators' Washington offices to insist on support for this legislation. Please visit our website at www.campaignforliberty.com for additional information and future events.
