Ron Paul and Glenn Beck discuss America’s future

Liberty Maven

Glenn Beck had Ron Paul on his radio show this morning to discuss Paul’s new book “End the Fed“. The discussion turned toward predicting what America will look like within the next 3-5 years. Unsurprisingly both Beck and Paul do not have a rosy prognostication. In fact their discussion was downright scary.

The discussion lasts about 14 minutes. Following the interview Beck reiterates that he doesn’t agree with Ron Paul on some things, but when it comes to the Fed Glenn says he is “Dead Right.” Following that Beck goes into a discussion on foreign policy as it relates to Afghanistan.

Locals talk about Continental Congress convention

Collegian Staff Writer

Members of Centre County's 9-12 Project of Central PA gathered Tuesday night to address the importance of the Continental Congress '09, a national convention calling for government to return to its traditional Constitutional values.

Speaker Floyd Houdeshell, Union County, is one of 11 candidates vying to represent Pennsylvania at the convention, which will be held Nov. 9 to 22, in Illinois. Pennsylvania currently has the largest number of delegate nominees, and Houdeshell said he hopes Central Pennsylvania will continue to be well represented.

Continental Congress sessions have not occurred since the writing of the Declaration of Independence, Houdeshell said. The 2009 convention, coordinated by the We the People organization, will be the first held in recent history. Legislators and the public are invited to attend the convention to meet with state delegates and present their concerns. FULL STORY

Michigan Fair Tax OR is it really Marxism!

I took this off the Fair Tax web site. I think everyone should read this before making up your mind to support this so called Fair Tax. For me, any time the government want's to control the amount I can spend on food or medicine, it's called Marxism. What reading the Amendment reveals is you still must pay county property tax (the larger portion) and you still pay City Income Taxes on top of the 9.75% sales or Consumption Tax. It also makes services taxable that aren't taxed now.

A PROPOSAL TO AMEND THE MICHIGAN CONSTITUTION BY AMENDING SECTIONS 3, 7, 8, 10, and 11 OF ARTICLE IX, AND BY ADDING SECTIONS 43, 44, 45, 46, AND 47 TO ARTICLE IX. THE AMENDMENT IS BRIEFLY SUMMARIZED AS FOLLOWS: The Michigan Fair Tax Proposal would amend the Constitution of the State of Michigan to eliminate the Michigan Income Tax of 4.35% and the Michigan Business Tax and replaces those taxes with a 9.75% sales tax on all consumer purchases of goods and services, but does not tax business to business transactions. No other statewide tax could be restored, enacted, or the sales tax increased without a vote of the people. The state shall reimburse to every Michigan citizen's household an amount based on the Federal Poverty Level Guidelines. This proposal would constitutionally guarantee Revenue Sharing for counties, townships, cities, and villages.

The MI FairTax:
Makes sure everyone pays their fair share
Allows you to keep your entire pay check free of state taxes
Un-taxes the poor with a rebate on the necessities of life
Stimulates investment, economic growth and job creation

So according to this Amendment and the Federal Poverty Level Guidelines, the state will dictate how much we are allowed to spend on food and medication per month and we will be taxed for anything over that amount.

What it doesn't do is cut spending or reduce the size of government which is the reason the state can't balance the budget. Does this Fair Tax really sound like it will help the small business or the people of this state?

To Defend, NOT Amend the Constitution.

On November 8th, 2009, three duly elected delegates from each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia will convene in St. Charles, IL for the first Continental Congress in 220 years. This historic assembly will document and broadcast worldwide, the constitutional abuses our nation suffers. Delegates will prioritize specific, non-violent, lawful actions that citizens can take to restore the Republic and cure the cancer that ails America.

To be successful CC2009 is going to take money for a world-wide Internet broadcast, other mass communication, publicity, skilled event managers, technicians, meeting and conference rooms and logistics. Once the 153 delegates find their own way to Illinois, we will provide overnight accommodations and three meals a day, in light of the two weeks time they will be dedicating to the defense of Liberty.

Dr. Woods will discuss his diagnosis of the crisis and proposed solutions and how these are close to the opposite of the conventional wisdom, which blames the meltdown on the free market and "greed." He will also show that there are indeed moral failings at the heart of the crisis, but that blaming mere "greed" leaves us to wonder why bouts of greed should appear only in sudden, cyclical clusters.

Storm the Castle!

Time: September 30, 2009 at 2pm to October 1, 2009 at 12:15am

Location: Lansing, outside the Capital

Street: I'll try to find the address.

Event Type: storm, the, castle, if, a, budget, has, not, been, reached, with, no, new, taxes

Organized By: Tina Dupont

From Jack Hoodendyke with Americans for Prosperity.

There is a way to stop them. May I suggest the following courses of action:

Stay informed. Two years ago, I was blogging up-to-the-minute reports on the process from the floor of the House. Nearly 2,500 readers stayed up past midnight to read every post. Most of them were telling me to "shut 'er down." This year, I encourage every conservative blogger in Michigan to converge on Lansing on the 30th. Sit in the gallery of the House and the Senate and blog to the world the blow-by-blow events. Make sure all your followers know instantly if there is a proposal to raise taxes. I will likely be blogging from the gallery

Watch the proceedings live on your computer. Go to Michigan Government TV (MGTV). Legislative sessions are usually streamed live.

Call, write, email, fax...flood the legislature with communications that expresses your opposition to more taxes and fees on your family, your business, your community to pay for their fiscally irresponsible ways. Here are the House and Senate links.

"Storm the Castle." Come to Lansing Wednesday night and stand outside the capitol with your home made signs. Let them know what you think. Every day, the taxpayer-funded lobbyists are calling, visiting, buying coffee and lunch for lawmakers to convince them "not to cut MY budget." Now you need to lobby them not to cut YOUR budget. Because if your taxes
go up, that's exactly what will happen. (Stay tuned for announcements of a rally to take place, if needed.) Who knows? Maybe they will settle this over the weekend; maybe they will pass a "continuation" budget, which is essentially kicking the problem down the road. But, if we get
to Wednesday without a settlement, you may be needed in Lansing!

Mich. court official accused of having child porn

Associated Press

Traverse City -- Investigators say a Michigan man who as a court referee presided over child abuse and neglect cases had pictures of nude, underage girls in a briefcase under his courthouse desk.

Fifty-three-year-old Dennis Mikko has been charged with possessing sexually abusive material involving children. He was expected to surrender to authorities Wednesday for arraignment on five felony charges.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports investigators do not believe Mikko had any inappropriate contact with children through his court position.

He resigned as a family division referee with the 13th Circuit Court on Aug. 21. He has overseen cases in Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Antrim counties since 1997. Full story

Middleville woman threatened with fines for watching neighbors' kids

MIDDLEVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) - A West Michigan woman says the state is threatening her with fines and possibly jail time for babysitting her neighbors' children.

Lisa Snyder of Middleville says her neighborhood school bus stop is right in front of her home. It arrives after her neighbors need to be at work, so she watches three of their children for 15-40 minutes until the bus comes.

The Department of Human Services received a complaint that Snyder was operating an illegal child care home. DHS contacted Snyder and told her to get licensed, stop watching her neighbors' kids, or face the consequences.

"It's ridiculous." says Snyder. "We are friends helping friends!" She added that she accepts no money for babysitting.

Mindy Rose, who leaves her 5-year-old with Snyder, agrees. "She's a friend... I trust her. FULL STORY

The Price of Pretense in Pittsburgh

By Peter Schiff
Published 09/26/09

What exactly are the federal fiscal stimuli other than deliberate, but clumsy, efforts to get people, companies, and governments to spend money they don't have? Programs like tax credits for new homebuyers or "cash for clunkers" are intended to encourage consumers to spend money that they otherwise might have saved. Grants to municipalities allow them to hire workers and spend money locally that they otherwise would have forgone.

Federal intervention in the mortgage and credit card debt markets, where they are now nearly the sole buyer, has been specifically undertaken to keep interest rates low and financial firms solvent -- so that Americans can keep buying homes and using their credit cards. While the Fed will continue to hand out free money to any and all borrowers for an "extended period," the abysmally low interest on deposits that such a policy creates disincentivizes personal savings even further.

In 2009, despite the tilted playing field, the American people have heroically managed to increase their savings (although clearly not as much as they would have in a free market). But President Obama's runaway deficit spending is undermining their efforts. The simple truth is that government debt is our debt. So if a family manages, at some cost to their lifestyle, to squirrel away an extra $1,000 in saving this year, but the government adds $20,000 in new debt per household (each family's approximate share of the $1.8 trillion fiscal 2009 deficit), that family ends up owing $19,000 more than they did at the beginning of the year! WorldNetDaily is promoting Send Congress a PINK SLIP. $29.95

It's called "Send Congress a Pink Slip." And it ensures that a brief but poignant message will be delivered by Federal Express to all 535 members of the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
Glenn Beck is saying on TV, "Stand Up, Question, Speak Out Boldly! Don't let anything in or out of Washington D.C."

There is one sure way to accomplish all this for real. Voting them out of office doesn't take away their pension or healthcare benefits. Recall does. We don't need gimmick's, we have the inherent UNALIENABLE RIGHT...

Political power.

First. All political power is inherent in the people.

Right of the people.

2. Government is instituted for the protection, security, and benefit of the people; and they have the right at all times to alter or reform the same, and to abolish one form of government and establish another, whenever the public good requires it.

No exclusive privileges.

3. No man or set of men are entitled to exclusive or separate privileges.

Acts void.

21. All acts of the legislature contrary to this or any other article of this Constitution shall be void.

So why not just PINK SLIP the entire United States Senate and get the job done right? We vote them in, we can recall them out.

We, THE PEOPLE, the SOVEREIGN ELECTORS and INHABITATNTS of [state], in accordance with our Unalienable Rights forever protected by the Northwest Ordinance (1787), do so hereby COMMAND the immediate Recall of the two U.S. Senators of the State of [state name] and thus THE PEOPLE, [name] and [name], without replacement of by the Governor, and continued vacancy until conclusion of a Special Election by THE PEOPLE, for the causes of their endorsement by vote and by negligence, unconstitutional acts in violation of their Oath of Office to Protect and Defend the Rights of THE PEOPLE, as secured by the Constitution for the Untied States of America, resulting in corruption of the currency, manipulation of Markets, Corporate Bailouts, permanent losses of Industry, foreclosures, social decay, family destruction and endless wars.

Citizens Rising in Defense of the Constitution

States Prepare for Coming Continental Congress - Locals invited to become delegates, National Election Day October 10th

EVERY STATE, U.S.A. -September 24, 2009 -- Citizens fed up with constitutional violations causing devastation to the economy and the Nation, are stepping up to join constitutional activist Robert L. Schulz, Chairman of We The People Foundation for Constitutional Education, to prepare for a modern-day Continental Congress to take place November 8-22, 2009 at the Pheasant Run Conference Center in St. Charles, Illinois. Continental Congress 2009 is not political or partisan and seeks to defend, not amend, the current Constitution.

Billed as the "next appropriate step for the free people of America," planners hope the historic national assembly will inspire the critical mass necessary to restore constitutional governance. 153 citizen-nominated-and-elected Delegates - three from each state and Washington, D.C. -- will convene for two weeks to methodically and factually document constitutional abuses which have taken place over many years, across many administrations, every branch of government and both parties. Delegates will consider specific non-violent, legal civic actions to stop the wrongs.

Citizens are invited to nominate delegates who have a "proven passion for the Constitution," by visiting "Perhaps you know a great patriot who is a neighbor, a family member, or associate," says Schulz. Delegates will make their own way to Illinois, but room and board will be covered by donations. FULL STORY

Jane is a young woman living in Vienna who, while working as a medical editor, was horrified to learn in early 2009 of the fiasco in which a Baxter International research facility in Orth-Donau, Austria, sent a quantity of human H3N2 viral material to 18 European laboratories.

Such a supply of experimental material would have been totally normal - except that in this instance the H3N2 had been somehow contaminated with live H5N1... the far more lethal Avian Flu.

As a medical editor, Jane immediately realized the import of what had happened - and what had nearly happened - and raised the alarm. But no-one in the Austrian media was interested. She then took matters into her own hands and filed legal charges against those who she considered the perpetrators to be.

Very soon after, Jane was dismissed from her job without explanation. Undeterred, she sought support on the internet and continued her campaign. In the months since then she has attracted committed followers - and critics - all over the world. She is not alone in suspecting that there exists a literally diabolical plan which is nothing less than the genocide of potentially hundreds of millions of people worldwide.

Project Camelot can understand how she has inspired many others to wake up and take action: it's a little harder to understand some of her critics. When we learned that a number of serious accusations had been leveled against her, the obvious thing to do was to seek her out and talk to her on camera - one of the things that Project Camelot is equipped to do best.

So, this we have done. The result speaks for itself. We bring you the real Jane Bürgermeister: feisty, determined, passionate, articulate, and authentic.

Dollar May be Doomed, Regardless of Geithner

Replacing the World’s Reserve Currency
Ahead of the G20 Summit in April, Zhou Xiaochuan, Governor of the People’s Bank of China, released an essay titled “Reform of the International Monetary System.”

Without specifically mentioning to the U.S. dollar, Zhou asked this basic question: What kind of international reserve currency does the world need in order to secure global financial stability and facilitate economic growth.

According to Zhou, the dollar’s unique status as the world’s primary reserve currency has resulted in increasingly frequent financial crises ever since the collapse of the Bretton Woods system in 1971.

“The price is becoming increasingly higher, not only for the users, but also for the issuers of the reserve currencies,” Zhou said. “Although crisis may not necessarily be an intended result of the issuing authorities, it is an inevitable outcome of the institutional flaws.” FULL STORY

The Misinformed Masses

What luck for rulers that men do not think.
Adolf Hitler
German Nazi dictator, orator, & politician

I was over researching stories on an Economics Blog and the subject of Glass-Steagal came up. I commented something like yes it is too bad bj bill [Clinton] let that go.
The Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 established the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in the United States and included banking reforms, some of which were designed to control speculation.[1] Some provisions such asRegulation Q, which allowed the Federal Reserve to regulate interest rates in savings accounts, were repealed by the Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980. Provisions that prohibit a bank holding company from owning other financial companies were repealed on November 12, 1999, by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.[2][3]

Wow did that draw the Ire of the crowd. Mind you not the fact that I call him bj bill (they seem to consider that a badge of honor) but the fact that I pointed out he was the one responsible so with no thought as to the facts they let me have it. Yes of course I have been wrong from time to time and when I am I apologize and when I am not I back it up with facts. Seems that makes them even madder yikes I think if they could find a way to kill me through the computer sometimes they would!

I take it with a Grain of Salt because I realize that most mainstream Economics blogs are of the Keynesian Principles of Economics. I get around (no if that is your ASSumption thats in your mind) I mean online. I am not one of those people who only reads what I want to hear. While I may not agree with an article in its entirety I at least take with me the facts. It seems to me that people who only read what they want to hear or follow tightly with a political parties rhetoric end up being misinformed. FULL STORY

Landmark Decision Promises Massive Relief for Homeowners and Trouble for Banks

Ellen Brown
Author, "Web of Debt"
Posted: September 21, 2009

A landmark ruling in a recent Kansas Supreme Court case may have given millions of distressed homeowners the legal wedge they need to avoid foreclosure. In Landmark National Bank v. Kesler, 2009 Kan. LEXIS 834, the Kansas Supreme Court held that a nominee company called MERS has no right or standing to bring an action for foreclosure. MERS is an acronym for Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, a private company that registers mortgages electronically and tracks changes in ownership. The significance of the holding is that if MERS has no standing to foreclose, then nobody has standing to foreclose -- on 60 million mortgages. That is the number of American mortgages currently reported to be held by MERS. Over half of all new U.S. residential mortgage loans are registered with MERS and recorded in its name. Holdings of the Kansas Supreme Court are not binding on the rest of the country, but they are dicta of which other courts take note; and the reasoning behind the decision is sound.

California attorney Timothy McCandless describes the problem like this:

[MERS] has reduced transparency in the mortgage market in two ways. First, consumers and their counsel can no longer turn to the public recording systems to learn the identity of the holder of their note. Today, county recording systems are increasingly full of one meaningless name, MERS, repeated over and over again. But more importantly, all across the country, MERS now brings foreclosure proceedings in its own name -- even though it is not the financial party in interest. This is problematic because MERS is not prepared for or equipped to provide responses to consumers' discovery requests with respect to predatory lending claims and defenses. In effect, the securitization conduit attempts to use a faceless and seemingly innocent proxy with no knowledge of predatory origination or servicing behavior to do the dirty work of seizing the consumer's home ... So imposing is this opaque corporate wall, that in a "vast" number of foreclosures, MERS actually succeeds in foreclosing without producing the original note -- the legal sine qua non of foreclosure -- much less documentation that could support predatory lending defenses.

The real parties in interest concealed behind MERS have been made so faceless, however, that there is now no party with standing to foreclose. The Kansas Supreme Court stated that MERS' relationship "is more akin to that of a straw man than to a party possessing all the rights given a buyer." The court opined:

By statute, assignment of the mortgage carries with it the assignment of the debt ... Indeed, in the event that a mortgage loan somehow separates interests of the note and the deed of trust, with the deed of trust lying with some independent entity, the mortgage may become unenforceable. The practical effect of splitting the deed of trust from the promissory note is to make it impossible for the holder of the note to foreclose, unless the holder of the deed of trust is the agent of the holder of the note. Without the agency relationship, the person holding only the note lacks the power to foreclose in the event of default. The person holding only the deed of trust will never experience default because only the holder of the note is entitled to payment of the underlying obligation. September 20, Salt Lake City Independent Examiner Jenn Morrill

For anyone who supported Ron Paul's 2008 presidential campaign, it was a frustrating thing to watch how the media treated him. One of the media personalities that was particularly disappointing to watch with Ron Paul was Glenn Beck. Overall, he seemed to agree with Paul's ideas the most, and yet he would often preface any agreements he had with Paul by saying things like "I don't agree with Ron Paul on everything--not by a long shot." He would say that Paul was on the "fringe" and had some "kooky" ideas

Beck would like the time machine to take him back eighteen months. Why? To go back to when he was calling Ron Paul a "crackpot on so many issues." Now, he laments, "Gosh. I'd like to reexamine all those issues." Among those issues is America's occupation of many foreign countries; Beck specifically mentions Germany, Korea, and Afghanistan. He admits that America's imperialism has caused a lot of problems. He said, "Progressive members of the Republican party wanted to make sure that we spread sunshine, lollipops, happiness, and democracy to all around the world. That's great. But the best way to do that is to live a righteous life and be a good example." And he repeated what Paul has been saying for years, "Besides, we can't afford it anymore!" FULL STORY

Time to reclaim the light of liberty

Bailouts, layoffs, foreclosures, social decay, family destruction and endless wars: Most don’t know it, but virtually every problem that America now suffers is the direct result of violations of the Constitution by our government.

Finally, there is hope.

This November, publicly elected citizen-delegates representing the people of each state will convene at a national assembly known as “Continental Congress 2009.” The purpose of this historic event is to formally document the violations and develop strategies the people can employ to peacefully resist tyranny and restore constitutional order.

It’s time to hold our servant government accountable and reclaim the light of liberty. Learn more about CC2009 and the true power of popular sovereignty at

NPR Interviews Ron Paul: Leave Government Out Of Insurance Plan

September 20, 2009

Q: If it was left to market devices, how do you envision that working to help insure all Americans?

A: Well, about opposite of what we should expect when we go to total government. And we have a pretty good record of showing what we did in this country up until the 1960s. I recall working in a church hospital for $3 an hour and nobody was ever turned away and nobody was left out in the streets. And just think of all the church hospitals that have been closed down because the invasion of government into the health care industry.

Q: But who would pay for them?

Well, who pays for the Shriner hospitals? Charity takes care of it, the churches take care of it. When government takes care of it, the bureaucrats get paid. And insurance companies become the lobbyists, the drug companies become the lobbyists, the management companies become the lobbyists, doctors get squeezed, the patients get squeezed. You can't put all these corporations in between the doctors and the patients. You have a form of corporatism, which motivates the type of system that we have now, and it's not any better. Some worry that Obama would give us socialized medicine, but he isn't. He's giving us a continuation of corporatism. He's forcing people to buy insurance. The insurance companies love it! They love to see 20 or 30 million more people being forced into the system, and they will have more customers. Full Interview

My Note: If we really want insurance Reform, then we need to start telling Washington DC to break up the MONOPOLY within the insurance industry that most people aren't aware of. Lets start with the British American Tobacco (BAT):

In 1949 BAT suffered a serious setback when the Communist Revolution closed China to the company, which lost a quarter of its sales as a result. The company began to diversify in the 1960s and acquired a variety of other businesses, notably the Yardley perfume company. BAT's first foray into motor racing sponsorship was with Yardley in 1970 with the BRM team. The company continued in F1 until the end of 1974.

By then BAT had acquired more retail companies, notably Saks in 1973. In 1976 the company changed its name to BAT Industries and after acquiring further retailers, such as Argos and Marshall Field, began to move into the insurance business with the purchase of Eagle Star, Allied Dunbar and the Farmers Group in the course of the 1980s.

British American Tobacco plc (British American Tobacco) will become a separately listed company.

The businesses of Zurich and BAFS will be transferred to a new Swiss company headquartered in Zurich called Zurich Financial Services Group (ZF Group). The new financial services group will be owned through a dual holding structure. Zurich shareholders will own shares in Zurich Allied AG, which will own 55 per cent of ZF Group. Current shareholdings in B.A.T Industries will be replaced by shareholdings in two new companies: Allied Zurich plc, which will own 45 per cent of ZF Group; and British American Tobacco.

Commenting on the proposal today, Lord Cairns, Chairman of B.A.T Industries, said:

"We are confident that the business fit between BAFS and Zurich will create an outstanding worldwide business positioned for rapid growth and that, as a leading international tobacco company, a focused British American Tobacco will continue to make good progress.

"We believe that there will be improved prospects for capital and income growth as a result of the separate ownership of these two world class businesses, although there will be some initial reduction in the dividend payout for B.A.T Industries' shareholders."

Rolf Huppi, Chairman and CEO of Zurich Group, said:

"The businesses to be combined are high quality, have significant prospects for growth and are highly complementary. The future position of Zurich Financial Services Group in key segments of personal, commercial and corporate risk and investment management, and its high quality brand portfolio will enable the group to deliver consistent earnings growth, building upon Zurich's financial strength and market strategies and BAFS' strong market positions in the US and the UK."

In connection with the proposed merger, B.A.T Industries has been advised by Lazard Brothers and Co., Limited and Goldman Sachs International. Zurich has been advised by Morgan Stanley and Co. Limited.

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS; Financial Unit Spun Off, British American Tobacco Rises 38%
The New York Times, Monday, September 9, 1

Under the deal with the Zurich Group, investors in B.A.T. Industries split their old stock equally between British American Tobacco P.L.C. and Allied Zurich.

B.A.T. Industries went ahead with its asset sale including the insurers Allied Dunbar and Eagle Star after a British High Court judge rejected efforts by 48 Blue Cross and Blue Shield health plans in the United States last week to block the $18.7 billion deal with the Zurich Group

Zurich Financial Services settled a bid-rigging and improper "finite reinsurance" transactions probe.[8] Zurich Financial agreed to pay $153 million in restitution and penalties and agreed to a series of reforms. Zurich apologized and acknowledged that "certain of its employees violated both acceptable business practices and Zurich's own standards of conduct by engaging in improper bidding practices and the ‘finite reinsurance’ transactions described in the Assurance of Discontinuance." The states included in the settlement were New York, Connecticut and Illinois.

In May 2007, Zurich Capital Markets, a subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services, paid $16.8 million to settle with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission for helping four hedge funds disguise their identities to avoid detection when making frequent trades in mutual fund shares.[9] An SEC director stated, “By knowingly financing their hedge funds clients' deceptive market timing, ZCM reaped substantial fees at the expense of long-term mutual-fund shareholders" [10]

When you start to understand that the Insurance Industry is all owned by a small hand full as well as other commercial and retail, and the major share holders are foreign, Not American, you understand the big push to NATIONALIZE HEALTH CARE.

Break up the Monopolies and make these companies market to the individual instead of through the employer. You will see prices come down, and better quality health care benefits.

The same needs to be done with Drug companies.
