IMF's Strauss-Kahn suggests IMF may one day provide global reserve asset
By HARRY DUNPHY Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON February 26, 2010 (AP
Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the head of the International Monetary Fund, suggested Friday the organization might one day be called on to provide countries with a global reserve currency that would serve as an alternative to the U.S. dollar.
"That day has not yet come, but I think it is intellectually healthy to explore these kinds of ideas now," he said in a speech on the future mandate of the 186-nation Washington-based lending organization.
Strauss-Kahn said such an asset could be similar to but distinctly different from the IMF's special drawing rights, or SDRs, the accounting unit that countries use to hold funds within the IMF. It is based on a basket of major currencies.
He said having other alternatives to the dollar "would limit the extent to which the international monetary system as a whole depends on the policies and conditions of a single, albeit dominant, country." FULL STORY

GOING TO THE ROOTS OF THE PROBLEM
Edwin Vieira, Jr., holds four degrees from Harvard: A.B. (Harvard College), A.M. and Ph.D. (Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences), and J.D. (Harvard Law School).
[The following is an expanded version of an address I was asked to present recently. The subject is “radical”, in the sense that it digs down to the roots of the problem. But for that very reason it needs airing. Therefore, I put it out here for general consumption, and perhaps consternation. Please add it to the “I told you so” folder in your “favorites” list.]
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, a certain nation was
one of the richest countries in the world. [World War II] had left it a creditor nation; it was owed * * * billion[s of] dollars by Britain alone. The derelict state of the European economies gave [this country] an assured market for its exports, while making it difficult to import much from Europe, thus enabling th[is] country to protect its own * * * industries. After the neglect of the thirties there was money for public spending and the country was * * * absorbing a flow of immigrants * * * [who] were not illiterate and unskilled, but scientists, skilled workers, intellectuals.
The whole world knows what has happened in Argentina since then, and is still happening there. Informed individuals also know why: because Argentina’s dysfunctional leadership classes adopted faulty economic and political principles. Moreover, Americans can expect much the same thing to happen here, if the same conditions precedent are fulfilled. For although History may never repeat itself exactly, bad principles will bring about similar perverse consequences whenever and wherever they are put into operation. And America’s equally dysfunctional leadership classes have adopted the most dangerous of those principles. So, absent a radical correction in this country’s present course, the Argentina-ization of the United States is very likely to take place. FULL STORY

State’s Rights
The governmentally controlled schools no longer teach the history of the American Republic. Those who have no knowledge of what inspired our Founding Fathers to battle the administrative tyranny of the Britannic Majesty and his governmentally empowered ministers will not comprehend the State and Federal Political Class’s constitutional deceit.
Public Act 1 of 1936 substantiates the duplicity of the State Political Class. The State Political Class that sits under our State Capitol dome has enacted numerous state plans dating from Public Act 1 of 1936, from wherein they now receive over twelve billion dollars a year in federal funding to promote the administrative welfare state of tax and take.
The administrative welfare state employs fifty two thousand Michiganders, to dole out forty two billion dollars of our funds per year for the past four years, to administer the welfare of fewer than three hundred thousand people here in Michigan whose existence is dependent upon working Michiganders who are taxed, taxed, and taxed again.
The solution to overcoming this administrative welfare state of regulatory tyranny, sits under the State Capitol Dome. We need to inform the corrupted State Political Class, that enough is enough, and they shall reassert our State’s Sovereignty and Independence by statutorily repealing all the State Plans, and return forty two billion dollars a year back to the hands of Michiganders. Wherein then we have the charitable choice to support others, not to be coerced under the color of law to fiscally support state and federal administrative agencies that eat out our substance. Defunding the Progressive Welfare State
The American Republic by The Inhabitant
The Progressive political class knows well the current abomination implemented as the State and Federal Tax programs have become a morass administered corruptly under the color of law.
Unfortunately the Michigan Fair Tax Promoters have no comprehension to the history of the “income tax”, and other progressive fiscal (tax) programs that were implemented, not to fund the administrative welfare state, but to turn honest hardworking American State Citizens into controllable social resources.
The Michigan Fair Tax itself is predicated on first increasing the cost of small business and large business operations by increasing the “sales and use tax” about 3.75%. This fact alone is detrimental for it decreases the consumption of goods, by increasing the cost to the purchaser. Where in the State or Federal Constitution is the authority for the legislature to tax the private transaction between a seller and a purchaser? What empowers the State or the Federal Legislature to excise private transactions? Contrary to Michigan Fair Tax promoters there was no such thing as a sales tax imposed anywhere in America Prior to July 1, 1921. It was on this date, that the first retail sales tax in America was imposed by a State, and of all places, it was “by God West Virginia.” Ad Valorem Taxes prior to that date, were state and federal legislatively enacted excise taxes which are indirect taxes, imposed upon the manufacturer of goods. The Federal Legislature also imposed duties, and tariffs at the port of entry on goods which was part I of the Tariff Act of October 3, 1913. Part II of that Tariff Act expanded the Corporate Excise Tax of 1909 to include excising the accretion of wealth distributed by Persons, like the Union Pacific Railroad to a statutorily defined individual such as Frank Brushaber.
Retail consumption Taxes are a gross receipts tax, which is defined in Title 4 USCA Chapter 4 § 110c as an “INCOME TAX”. So it is very apparent the Fair Tax Promoters throughout America are promoting an income tax, yet claim it is a sales tax. Welcome to Alice’s Wonderland, where nothing is as others portend it may be. Statism v. Bill of Rights
More and more you are hearing the words STATIST and STATISM. How many people really know what these words mean? How does STATISM violate our RIGHTS?
"Oh, don't vote for that candidate, He/She is a STATIST."
Well, here's the meaning.
statism |ˈstātˌizəm|
noun
a political system in which the state has substantial centralized control over social and economic affairs : the rise of authoritarian statism.
DERIVATIVES
statist noun & adjective
In today's world, we have more and more STATE control over our lives. Friend of the Court which interferes for the purpose of collecting child support under Title IV. The incentive for the STATIST to operate FOC is money. Under Title IV, the Federal Government matches what these FOC agents collect. The question each citizen of Michigan should be asking is, does this candidate support this or will they reduce the size of state government and cut this department.
It is our tax dollars that pay the salaries, health care and pensions for the FOC employees. Is this a service that Michigan really needs?
Now here's another department that needs to be looked at. CPS or Child Protective Services. Read the article below and then ask yourself is this service worth what it's costing you to pay the salaries, health care and pensions of this huge department run by the state.
The facts are there for anyone who cares to view them. By the government’s own numbers, the rate of child assault, rape, starvation, and murder is far higher among children in state “care” than it is in the general population. The exposés done by respected newspapers about the predatory and corrupt CPS system have been numerous and well documented. Troy Anderson, then of the LA Daily News, did an amazing series of articles a few years ago that affected me deeply and proved an invaluable resource for an essay I did on the subject for the book Under The Influence: The Disinformation Guide To Drugs.
It was journalists that broke the story of foster children being used in medical experiments, with those from the New York Post, the Associated Press, the Village Voice and several more dragging this story out of the secrecy and corruption in which child protective services operates and into the light of international attention, no doubt saving lives. The Miami Herald and the Denver Post join the ranks of media outlets to devote investigative journalism to the rampant corruption and abuses of power in the CPS system and the parasitic industries that profit from its captive ‘clients’.
These captive ‘clients’ typically come from an all too predictable source – those that are poor and without the resources to fight a system that is terrifying and powerful, one that finds it all too easy to ignore and hide their pleas against the injustice of taking away the only thing of real value and joy that they have, their children. Single mothers, the poor, families of color – these are the favored targets. Certainly there are terrible cases of child abuse and neglect, nobody could deny that. However, a peek into the government’s own numbers shows clearly that the vast majority of children are removed from their parents due to poverty-based neglect. Less than 20 percent of children removed from their parents are taken away due to physical violence or sexual abuse. FULL STORY

Jurors discuss Springer trial, decision - Part of Michigan Pilot Jury Program
Couple found guilty of torture, child abuse

CENTREVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - About one week after telling the judge they were deadlocked, the jurors in the murder and child abuse trial of Anthony and Marsha Springer made a decision.
But it wasn't easy, they said Tuesday night.
The Springers were found guilty of child abuse and torture, but not murder. Anthony and Marsha Springer were tried on first-degree murder and Anthony faced an additional charge for second-degree murder.
The ability of jurors to question witnesses
The ability of jurors to question witnesses is part of a pilot program in Michigan that’s been under way since 2008.
Under the experimental program, the 14-member Springer jury receives copies of reports and other evidence as it is introduced.
Jurors may discuss evidence in the jury room while the trial is in progress as long as all members are present.
The program is being tried in several circuit courts and district courts. At the end of the experiment this year, the state Supreme
Court will decide if any changes could be implemented in courts statewide.

This cartoon was in the Chicago Tribune in 1934. Look carefully at the plan of action in the lower left corner.
The National Inflation Association is thrilled that Congressman Ron Paul won this past weekend's annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll of who CPAC members think will be the Republican nominee in the next Presidential election. While the mainstream media was quick to dismiss the straw poll results, there were 2,395 ballots cast in the straw poll, a CPAC record. The avalanche of articles coming out today in an attempt to discredit Ron Paul's heroic efforts in Washington, show the ignorance of the mainstream media, which has lost touch with the educated American public.
One of NIA's top 10 predictions for 2010 was that we would see a move this year towards a Libertarian third-party. Although Ron Paul is a member of the Republican party, he is a true Libertarian at heart. Ron Paul's win at CPAC demonstrates that the Libertarian movement is beginning and NIA members are at the forefront of it. By helping spread the word about our documentary 'The Dollar Bubble', which has now surpassed 510,000 views in less than three months, NIA members have done more to educate the American public about the real crisis ahead than all mainstream media outlets combined. Mike Huckabee rips CPAC
I guess when the darlings of the Republican Party don't win, then the easy thing to do is act like a Democrat and discredit CPAC. WOW! Just because Ron Paul Won.
By JONATHAN MARTIN | 2/21/10 7:27 PM EST
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee blasted the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday as outdated, nearly corrupt and unrepresentative of the conservative movement.
Huckabee, a 2008 Republican presidential contender and potential 2012 candidate who had spoken at the conference for years, said the reason he blew it off this year was that the meeting has become dominated by libertarian activists.
“CPAC has becoming increasingly more libertarian and less Republican over the last years, one of the reasons I didn’t go this year,” Huckabee said in an interview with Fox News, where he is a paid analyst and has his own show.
He was responding to a question about whether he was upset by his single-digit showing in the conference’s straw poll, which was won by libertarian-leaning Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). FULL STORY

If you thought Wall Street’s debt crisis was traumatic, wait till you the see the consequences of Washington’s debt crisis!
Never before in history has a world power like the U.S. been so utterly buried in debt! And never before has that debt been financed so massively by foreign investors!
Nineteenth century Mexico, Spain, and Argentina accumulated so much debt, they were forced to default.
In the 20th century, a similar fate befell Germany (1932) … China (1939) … Turkey (1978) … Mexico again in 1982 … Brazil and the Philippines (1983) … South Africa in 1985 … plus Russia and Pakistan in 1998.
Argentina kicked off the 21st century with a default in 2001. And barring a euro zone rescue, Greece, Spain, and Portugal are prime candidates for debt defaults this year.
But in NONE of these examples did we — or do we — see the debt crisis striking a dominant world power! In ALL cases, the debts represent little more than a small fraction of the total debts outstanding worldwide.
Not so in our case today! FULL STORY

On the Brink of a Bond Market Apocalypse
In his speech at CPAC, Ron Paul again talked about his core issues, such as creating transparency at the Federal Reserve, returning to a sound monetary system and responsible spending by government.
He even took a jab at mainstream media, asking if they remembered the presidential campaigns, when he was the guy "off in the corner" predicting economic doom.

Trusting Washington and Wall Street is bankrupting millions of Americans … and now they’re at it again!
In the 1990s, Wall Street urged you to buy Internet stocks at 500 and 1,000 times earnings — and even tried to railroad you into stocks with no earnings at all.
Result: According to the Fed, nearly $6.6 trillion vanished into thin air when those stocks crashed and burned.
Then, in 2001, Washington got into the act — driving interest rates to their lowest levels since World War II … helping to create the greatest real estate bubble in history … and doing absolutely nothing when money-hungry bankers and brokers broke every rule in the book.
Result: The Fed’s latest report reveals another $15.5 trillion in losses the great real estate bust, credit crisis and recession.
The bottom line: In less than one decade, investors who trusted Washington and Wall Street were fleeced to the tune of $22.1 TRILLION!
Now, by bailing out bankers, brokers and CEOs, Washington has created the most dangerous bubble so far: The enormous and rapidly growing explosion of federal debt — U.S. treasuries — dumped on investors worldwide.
You don’t need a PhD in economics to know what’s next: Like the Tech Bubble and Real Estate Bubble that preceded it, this new bubble will also burst, wiping out trillions more dollars of invested wealth.
He even took a jab at mainstream media, asking if they remembered the presidential campaigns, when he was the guy "off in the corner" predicting economic doom.
"All the sudden, the crash that I had been predicting all along: it came," he said. "And now Fox News TV has had me on about 60 times since the campaign was over."

Should the GOP nominate Ron Paul?
To anyone who watched any of the other Republican stars give their speeches at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference, the difference between Paul and the rest was clearly one of enthusiasm and volume. Indeed, it seems objective to report that the libertarian-leaning doctor from Texas was greeted more like a rock star than a politician.
And, Politico notes, he was the only speaker at CPAC to completely fill the convention hall. ( Including Glenn Beck )
"Sounds to me like the revolution is alive and well!" he said, eliciting another volley of cheers. "Quite a few here! Ten thousand people, all interested in promoting good government, limited government and personal liberty!"
Paul's Campaign for Liberty could be better described as one of the founding organization's of what's been more broadly termed the tea parties. While not yet a cohesive force in U.S. politics, many of those associated tend to be conservative leaning and much has been made among mainline Republicans to try and attract greater support therein. Paul even warned recently that "neocon influence" has begun to infiltrate the glut of tea parties. however, wants to engage liberals and progressives as well, who he's cited as having similar qualms with the government. Just two years ago, before the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, Paul was practically persona non grata -- this conservative movement had disdained his warnings about economic collapse and his belief that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were unconstitutional and counterproductive. At the Republican National Convention, some of his delegates were silenced from declaring their vote during the main roll call. Paul himself -- a sitting congressman -- had his access to the floor restricted.
Times have changed. His movement has raised millions of dollars despite his failed candidacy and has gone on to grow grassroots organizations, including the Campaign for Liberty, which made sure it had a huge presence at CPAC this year. Though some libertarians who spoke with Foxnews.com said there are plenty of areas where they disagree, they have felt a better reception at CPAC this year, generally. FULL STORY

Are you interested in limited government? Are you interested in lower taxes?
If the answer to these questions are yes, you'll not want to miss this event.
Former governor of New Mexico and rumored Presidential candidate Gary Johnson will be appearing in East Lansing on Thursday, February 25 for two very special events: a private briefing for Michigan's grassroots leaders for Liberty, followed by a lecture at Michigan State University.
Proceeds from the private briefing will support the Michigan Campaign For Liberty and the Michigan State chapter of Young Americans for Liberty, sibling grassroots-based organizations that train, equip, and mobilize political pressure for Liberty. The campus event is sponsored by Students for a Free Economy, a project of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. The Mackinac Center is a foundation for research and education on limited government and free markets.
Tickets are $35.00 and can be purchased here (along with event details): http://www.mic4l.com/event/2010johnson-lansing.php
◆So why would you want to spend your hard earned cash for this event (Lord knows the government takes more than enough of it)?
◆Supporting the student groups of the Liberty movement will produce future leaders advocating limited government.
◆Your support of Campaign for Liberty will help us advance legislation like our Bad ID legislation (anti-Real ID legislation introduce in the Michigan House) and bring experts to testify at committee hearings.
◆Mr Johnson will most likely run for President and we will never again get an opportunity to have one on one contact with him for such a low cost.
◆Our event will be attended by mostly Liberty Activist and you will have lots of opportunities to network with other Liberty Activists.
We hope that you see this as worthwhile and choose to join us,

Comparison of Taxing Issue of the different parties.
Bill Mohr ran for State Representative in the 76th District 2008. My sister sent me his comparisons on the issues for the Parties. I decided to post this so everyone can see where they fall when it comes to Living by our Constitution or Picking and Choosing what parts if any you want restored.
NOTE: Gerald Celente said in his Fall 2009 Trends Report. When people lose everything, the people will lose it. We saw a sample of that yesterday when Joe Stack flew his plane into the IRS Building in Texas. If you haven't read his suicide note, you should. CLICK HERE

Moreover, it is our intention to replace, with a tariff based revenue system supplemented by excise taxes, the current tax system of the U.S. government (including income taxes, payroll taxes, and estate taxes.)
Comments: I recently received an email from Roy Schmidt, Representative for the 76th District here in Grand Rapids, in which he was very critical of those who consistently cried, "more tax cuts", explaining the state can cut no more spending. It
has to raise taxes. I have a question for the Honorable Roy Schmidt, "I too, cannot cut anymore. I am tapped out. Any more cuts will cause me to sacrifice part of my quality of life." I would much rather the bloated and gluttonous state government
suffer losses of 'life' rather than its residents.
money so that we can provide an immediate middle-class tax cut that will offer relief to workers and their families. We’ll eliminate federal income taxes for millions of retirees, because all seniors deserve to live out their lives with dignity and respect.
We will not increase taxes on any family earning under $250,000 and we will offer additional tax cuts for middle class families. For families making more than $250,000, we’ll ask them to give back a portion of the Bush tax cuts to invest in health care and other key priorities.

Comments: Just think of all the money business could save and put back into the economy if they didn't have all the expenses associated with payroll deduction. This is absolutely the right position. Once again, the Libertarian Party agrees with our
position.
Republicans support tax credits for health care and medical expenses.
We support a tax code that encourages personal savings
Government can play an important role in addressing economic dislocations by modernizing its re-training and unemployment assistance programs.
Because affordable housing is in the national interest, any simplified tax system should continue to encourage homeownership...
Comments: The Republican's first statement about taxes in their platform is an accusation of the Democrats of trying to control our behavior, steer our choices and change the way we live our lives. Then they go on to state that they support revising
the tax code for the purpose of health care, encouraging personal savings, assistance programs and encouraging home ownership. That's not controlling our behavior, steering our choices and changing the way we live our lives?
I have an idea. Just cut all the unconstitutional and immoral spending so we can eliminate the federal income tax. Show me a Republican administration in the last five decades that actually cut taxes (keeping in mind that the income tax is only one
of many tax systems delving into your pockets). The phrase, "Read my lips. No new taxes" was uttered by the same man who first spoke publically about his drive to implement the New World Order. Remember? George Bush Sr. - Republican. The
phrase was spoken during his campaign for President, and winning the victory, he introduced the largest tax increase in history at that time. Nothing has changed. The direction remains the same.
""To bereave a man of life, or by violence to confiscate his estate, without accusation or trial, would be so gross and notorious an act of despotism, as must at once convey the alarm of tyranny throughout the whole nation; but confinement of the person, by secretly hurrying him to jail, where his sufferings are unknown or forgotten, is a less public, a less striking, and therefore A MORE DANGEROUS ENGINE of arbitrary government.""
~~~ Alexander Hamilton
(in Federalist Paper No. 84, quoting Blackstone)
“The individual may stand upon his constitutional rights as a citizen. He is entitled to carry on his private business in his own way. His power to contract is unlimited. He owes no duty to the state nor to his neighbor to divulge his business, or to open his doors to an investigation, so far as it may tend criminate him. He owes no such duty to the state since he receives nothing therefrom, beyond the protection of his life and property. His rights are as such existed by the law of the land long antecedent to the organization of the state, and can only be taken from him by due process of the law, and in accordance with the Constitution. Among his rights are a refusal to incriminate himself, and the immunity of himself and his property from arrest or seizure except under a warrant of the law. He owes nothing to the public so long as he does not trespass upon their rights.” Hale v. Henkel, 201 U.S. 43, 74 (1906).
This Comparison is on Taxes.
Constitution Party - US Taxpayers Party in Michigan
Since 1913, our Constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property have been abridged and diminished by the imposition on each of us of Federal income, payroll, and estate taxes. This is an unconstitutional Federal assumption of direct taxingauthority...
Moreover, it is our intention to replace, with a tariff based revenue system supplemented by excise taxes, the current tax system of the U.S. government (including income taxes, payroll taxes, and estate taxes.)
Democratic Party
We must reform our tax code. It’s thousands of pages long, a monstrosity that high priced lobbyists have rigged with page after page of special interest loopholes and tax shelters. We will shut down the corporate loopholes and tax havens and use themoney so that we can provide an immediate middle-class tax cut that will offer relief to workers and their families. We’ll eliminate federal income taxes for millions of retirees, because all seniors deserve to live out their lives with dignity and respect.
Libertarian Party
All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. We call for the repeal of the income tax, the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution. We oppose any legalrequirements forcing employers to serve as tax collectors.
Comments: Just think of all the money business could save and put back into the economy if they didn't have all the expenses associated with payroll deduction. This is absolutely the right position. Once again, the Libertarian Party agrees with our
Republican Party
Today’s Democratic Party views the tax code as a tool for social engineering. They use it to control our behavior, steer our choices, and change the way we live our lives. The Republican Party will put a stop to both social engineering and corporate handouts by simplifying tax policy, eliminating special deals, and putting those saved dollars back into the taxpayer's pockets.Republicans support tax credits for health care and medical expenses.
Ordinances, Codes vs. Constitution, Private Property Rights
Do Ordinances and Codes violate your personal property rights? Here are three stories where people are fighting this issue. Mr. Wilkins built a structure that some feel is an eyesore and will devalue their property. A simple fix could be as easy as putting up a fence so no one from the street could see it. Does the city or township have to right to charge you for a permit to do something to your property?
A Waterford Township homeowner who erected a patio roof without building permits and variance approvals said people will rally at his home if the township tries to take it down.
“This roof isn’t injuring anybody,” said Andy Wilkins, who lives on Francesca Drive, south of Walton Road. “It just violates one of their rules.” FULL STORY
DEQ Gives Homeowner Permit to Dump Nearly One Billion Gallons of Ground Water Down the Drain
Do you remember the big battle in Evart, Michigan between Ice Mountain and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ)? Nestle Waters was trying to create hundreds of jobs by bottling fresh ground water for retail sale. The DEQ, joined by the environmental groups like the Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation (MCWC), argued that Ice Mountain would deplete the ground water, causing damage to nearby lakes and streams. The case dragged on for years, coming to a final conclusion only last month when Ice Mountain agreed to pump no more than 313,000 gallons of groundwater per day. Originally, Ice Mountain had been granted permission to pump 576,000 gallons per day.
Terry Swier, president of the MCWC, called the settlement a victory for her organization. "This will leave more water in the system and should eliminate the more serious impacts" to the waterways that were threatened by the withdrawals, Swier said.
My question is this: If the DEQ and the MCWC were willing to fight so hard protect the ground water and the environment in that case, where are they on the situation in Grand Haven Township? FULL STORY
Bernanke was quoted before he was Fed Chairman as saying if a crisis occurred he would throw hundred dollar bills from a helicopter to solve the problem, one former CIA Operative explained to me in spring of 2007.
WHO OWNS THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT?
Yesterday, the New York Times came out with an article, "Tea party' movement lights fuse for right." "Activists discover set of ideas long seen as preserrve of conspiracy theorists."
This morning I received an email from a friend telling me that Glenn Beck talked about the article and his attack on Debra Median, candidate for governor of Texas last Thursday on his radio show.
So I went out and found the clip of Glenn's show to see how he tries to justify trying (and I stress the word TRY) to sabotage her campaign in favor of Rick Perry.
The Times article starts out talking about Pam Stout from Sandpoint, Idaho who has not always lived in fear of her government.
But that's not how Glenn Beck portrayed the article. A friend who has been fighting for Constitutional Order for the past 20 years, sent me the article to read yesterday and I have to agree with his comment on it.
Gosh Glenn, can you show us some facts to back up those numbers. Because before your 9/12 Project Moderator kicked me off the group, it looked to me like about a 50% split. And because of your attack job on Debra Medina, more people opened up to looking at "Loose Change" and some of the other evidence that prior to last Thursday, they just took your word for everything.
It seems to me that Glenn Beck want's it both ways. If a progressive democrat is in the White House, it's alright to "Question with Boldness" and paint his advisors as 'EVIL' people. But if we question a progressive republican well, then we fall into Glenn's 5% category of "FRING FAR RIGHT NUT JOBS"
I recommend that everyone take the time to read the NYT's article, watch the clip of Beck trying to justify what he tried to do to Medina and then ask yourself why both the progressive democrats and republican are so worried.
As for Debera Medina, well, I think the attack had a negative effect and Glenn Beck wasn't prepared for the 'BLOW BACK'. While Glenn's ratings are dropping, Medina's are rising, and so is her money chest. I received a lot of emails asking where people from all over the country could go to donate to her campaign.
The lesson here is, "Don't mess with the Ron Paul Constitutional Tea Party Candidates". The Tea Party started with Ron Paul, not Glenn Beck and not with the Republican Party per say. The True Tea Party Movement is built on a Constitutional Ideology which the NYT's attributes to Ron Paul and labels it a Patriot Ideology.
You can read the NYT's article HERE.
Beck apparently disagrees. The following day he told his audience that the most important question to ask anyone is whether they think “our government blew up the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. … There’s no bigger question you can ask,” he said. It’s a “deal breaker” -- right up there with abortion, healthcare reform, and the Trans-Texas Corridor.
“We’re In This to Win”
Contacted for comment, Penny Freeman in an email told NWV there had been no list of questions, but Pat Gray, Beck’s producer, had sent a list of topics to be discussed and her beliefs about 9/11 wasn’t among them. She said it was too soon to judge the impact of the interview on the campaign, but Google hits for Medina “went through the roof, as did our donations and store sale.”
“I think Glen’s rudeness and comments about French kissing Perry made a lot of people really angry – angry enough to look into the campaign,” she said. FULL STORY
Once more, after being written out of the script by the newspapers and television producers, the scrappy congressman from Texas, Ron Paul is back in the mix. And big time. Sarah Palin, of all people, put him there.
After turning down thousands of speaking invitations over a six month period Sarah Palin finally accepted a gig for the National Tea Party, a grass roots phenomenon that owes its life to that unstoppable old man from Texas. And then the news that she is endorsing Rand Paul, the congressman’s son, and an emerging star in the Kentucky Senate race. Who says Sarah Palin is dumb? She is tapping into the hottest political movement going.
The fact is, Sarah Palin can only be stopped on her way to her GOP coronation by a Ron Paul ambush in Iowa. Only Paul has activists who will fall on their swords for him and will go to work early enough to make a difference.
"But all that was before the Great Recession and the bank bailouts, before Barack Obama took the White House by promising sweeping change on multiple fronts, before her son lost his job and his house. Mrs. Stout said she awoke to see Washington as a threat, a place where crises is manipulated - even manufactured - by both parties to grab power."
But that's not how Glenn Beck portrayed the article. A friend who has been fighting for Constitutional Order for the past 20 years, sent me the article to read yesterday and I have to agree with his comment on it.
"It is not blatantly bad.
Their subtle effort to paint the Tea Party as the Doorway to Racist Patriotism is apparent,Glenn took his chalk board yesterday and made a diagram for anyone who is gullible enough to believe him anymore, to show that there are only about 10% of the fringe nut cases out there, 5% on the right and 5% on the left. He claims that the remaining 90% represents the REAL TEA PARTY MOVEMENT.
So the piece is an effort to spread Fear of the subject, that if you look down the Rabbit Hole you will fall in and never get out like these poor souls who think that they can change the status quo and are seeing armed conflict as inevitable.
The summary on this is those who are not hurting and have a financial stake (government operatives) in keeping the racial strife alive and well in America so that they can make money without being productive, do not sense anything wrong with America and are afraid that a couple of people who are hurting are going to get violent so they must be further marginalized because of what they MIGHT SAY!
Certainly a piece to take the wind out of the Sails of the Tea Party/Liberty Movement."
RED ALERT: Next debt crisis near!
One year and five months ago — armed with a 92-page white paper and 59,000 petitions — we warned Congress about the grave danger of government bailouts.
In a debt crisis, Washington, Wall Street and European governments still seem to think that the only way to “restore investor confidence” is to pump in massive amounts of rescue capital, bail out the sinking ships, and plug the biggest leaks in the system.
But they accomplish little more than spreading the bad debts from one place to another. And recent history has proven, ad nauseam, that the relief they provide is pitifully short-lived … while the toxic material they spread is inevitably lethal.
The Spreading Rot
In a debt crisis, Washington, Wall Street and European governments still seem to think that the only way to “restore investor confidence” is to pump in massive amounts of rescue capital, bail out the sinking ships, and plug the biggest leaks in the system.
But they accomplish little more than spreading the bad debts from one place to another. And recent history has proven, ad nauseam, that the relief they provide is pitifully short-lived … while the toxic material they spread is inevitably lethal.
Yet, despite everything, few have recognized the historical patterns that have emerged:
Pattern #1
The stampede to risk is a herd phenomenon.
Pattern #2
Greed breeds corruption. To keep the party
going, companies and governments dress up
the numbers, hide the facts, or simply lie
through their teeth.
Pattern #3
Inevitably the truth is revealed,
setting investors on a selling frenzy.
Like predators, they first attack the
weakest, at the periphery of the herd.
Pattern #4
The bailouts merely helped
spread the rot.
The most important pattern of all:
Until and unless excess debts are liquidated,
the disease cannot be subdued. It will merely
return at a different time, in a different form.
Menendez NJ Recall Update: The Tea Party Goes to Court
by Liberty Chick
Tea Party activists might be smarter than some would like to think. And depending upon the outcome of a court case later this month, they might also play a role in setting legal precedent.
When the parties present their oral arguments on February 26th, much of the case may come down to how it is framed. Attorneys for both Senator Menendez and for NJ state election officials have focused their briefs solidly on one key constitutional point:
“As the US Constitution reserves to the United States Senate the power to expel and determine the qualifications of its own members, New Jersey has no authority to recall a US Senator.”
While this is a premise that has agreement among legal scholars, it is also largely debated – because it has never actually been definitively ruled in a court of law. Many loosely related rulings or references to debate at the Constitutional Convention are often cited, though, as the NJ State Attorney General herself concedes, “there are no federal decisions squarely on point.” Most importantly, NJ actually changed its state Constitution in to specifically permit the recall of a US Senator after a ballot vote in 1993. In the absence of any definitive ruling that renders the state’s recall law unconstitutional, other legal experts maintain that the Committee may very well have a legitimate case to plead.
The Committee’s attorneys argue that the constitutional issue raised by the state and Menendez attorneys is not ripe anyway. Since the recall notice was denied before the petition could circulate, before it could be certified that the petition met the minimum number of signatures required, before a recall election could be conducted, and before an election result could even be certified, no one has even made any demand yet that a recall order be issued against Senator Menendez.
They contend that the State is focused on the wrong issue:
“The State, asserting only that it has no power to issue a judicially enforceable order to recall a U.S. Senator, argues the Committee has failed to demonstrate a likelihood of success on the merits. However, the State focuses on the wrong issue.
This issue before this Court concerns the State’s content-based restriction on the Committee’s right to freely exercise core political speech, not the dispute over whether a recall order issued by the Secretary of State is judicially enforceable as against Senator Menendez or the United States Senate.
The Committee has clearly shown a likelihood of its ultimate success on the sole ripe Constitutional issue before the Court, i.e., the right to freely engage in core political speech.”
So, while the attorneys for the state and for Senator Menendez are primarily focused on the Constitutional question of who has the right to recall a US Senator, attorneys for the committee are focused on the constitutional question of First Amendment rights. FULL STORY
Hold to the Truth....Which Truth??????
"Question Boldly, Hold to the Truth, Speak Without Fear," so preaches Glenn Beck. Sooooooooo:
Okay, so what are 9/11 truthers? They are simply people who want the truth about what happened on 9/11. Any reason why someone shouldn't be interested in the truth? No. Any reason people should accept without question what the media says about America's biggest tragedy? No. Why attack Mrs. Medina just because she didn't give an absolute no to being a 9/11 truther? Before you accuse her for being a "9/11 truther", maybe you should do your own research. Dad has researched it for years. I have spent hours and hours researching it. I will not say who I think was responsible for 9/11 because I do NOT know, there is too much hidden information and too many unanswered questions. But I do not believe for one second that those planes were the reason those two buildings collapsed because there IS enough sufficient evidence to prove otherwise. What about building 7? What caused it to collapse? No planes hit it and it collapsed in less than 10 seconds. Before you decide to rule out Mrs. Medina simply because she doesn't say "there was no way the government was behind 9/11"....do your research!!! FULL STORY
Questions; Ask Them
In case you are one of the 10 or 20 people who haven’t heard of the Glen Beck Debra Medina controversy I might as well weight in here myself. I just happen to be listening to Glenn Beck yesterday and heard the interview live
Glen Beck asks Debra Median, candidate for governor of Texas, “If she believed the government killed 3,000 people on 9/11, and her answer was “I don’t know”
(The interview is at the end of the post)
However I don’t think the larger issue is if Debra Median is a “truther” or not but the fire storm that has ensued by the act of asking a question.
Aren’t conservatives supposed to be critical thinkers? Doesn’t critical thinking require asking questions and then assessing the answers according to facts and reason? FULL STORY
Glenn Beck, Debra Medina, Tea Party's and Taxpayers In Revolt.
Glenn Beck, the self-proclaimed Patriot and Leader of the Freedom Movement seem to have forgotten some of the history lessons he has been giving on his TV show. He has forgotten how he stood in front of the camera in tears telling all of us to "Question with Boldness", because now, Glenn, you will find that your ratings can drop a lot faster than your rise to fame. I saw Fox trying to do damage control this weekend, sorry, it isn't going to work. Big mistake Glenn.
Debra Medina is offering Texas a choice, Freedom or the same ol Statism Quo.
Debra Medina is offering Texas a choice, Freedom or the same ol Statism Quo.
statism |ˈstātˌizəm|
Medina is offering Texans the RIGHT to completely own their own property without governments ability to confiscate it.
When the government has the ability to tax your personal property, then government can and will control your life. This is not the system that founded this country. It is the system that our founders fought against when they wrote and served the Declaration Of Independence.
I recommend everyone to read the book written by David T. Beito, "Taxpayers In Revolt" Tax Resistance During The Great Depression.
Maybe then you will understand why Medina is campaigning on the elimination of property taxes. And if she wins, guess what else will occur. How about all those permits for every little thing you want to do to your own property.
Now, if this happens, it means all across Texas the County and State Employees who work in these departments will get a pink slip.
WOW!!! Isn't that what Republican Candidates keep promising and we never get? Smaller Government and Lower Taxes.
So why would Glenn Beck feel the need to try and smear Debra Medina and her campaign? And look how Beck is treating her supporters, using a broad brush to paint them all as kooks and unpatriotic if they dare to "QUESTION WITH BOLDNESS" their government.
Beck has even attacked the Families of the Victims of 9/11 for their "QUESTIONS WITH BOLDNESS". So what's up with that?
I don't know about the rest of the people in this country, but I am really sick and tired of this type of dirty politics. I'm tired of being labeled as a nut case just because I dare to read both the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the state of Michigan.
I am tired of being told that the Bill of Rights doesn't matter, and that I have to accept whatever candidate the parties try to shove down our throat.
You want to see just how dirty this all gets, try joining either party, become a precinct delegate and bring up the Constitution. See just how quick they close their ranks and cut you out of any type of leadership roll within their little club. Been there and done that one.
Until the American people really take it upon themselves to get educated, and accept Freedom, this will just continue on and we will loose in the end. Either you want a Constitutional Republic and Rule of Law, or you want Socialism and The Mob Rule of Man.
The city of Vallejo, California has already filed for bankruptcy protection and two small towns northeast of San Francisco, Iselton and Rio Vista, are "consulting with bankruptcy lawyers," reports the Wall Street Journal. State Treasurer Bill Lockyer went as far as to say, "California’s fiscal house is burning down."
In Nevada, where the unemployment rate has hit a 25-year high of 8 percent, that state’s budget must be slashed from $6.8 billion over two years to between $5.4 and $5.8 billion. Compounding the problem is that the Silver State’s Public Employment Retirement System has lost $4 billion on its investments since July. NPERS has always claimed it is actuarially sound but that assumes a constant 8 percent return on its investments. No doubt the 19 percent loss the system has incurred the last few months will destroy these assumptions. FULL STORY
President Adrian Murray of the Fort Worth chapter of the "912 Project" [a.k.a. the Glenn Beck Project] relates Irish struggle against tyranny to the modern day fight.
I first met her last May at the Old South Pancake House in Fort Worth, which for reasons beyond me is a favorite meeting and dining place for local politicos. She spoke for 40 minutes or so and although her delivery was not yet refined she spoke with a truth of conviction and belief that resonated. I said to Renee when we left that I agreed with everything she has to say. Too bad she doesn't have a snowball's chance of winning, I said.
As the months passed we followed her and her message sharpened and became more refined as she gained confidence that her ideas were resonating with the people. We marveled as the crowds coming to hear her swelled from 25 or 50 to 100 to 200 to 1,000 or more. We found great joy as her poll numbers moved from nothing to 4% to 8% to 12% to 24%. She could actually do this, we began to believe. She could actually win.
Unfortunately, others had the same belief: This woman, this upstart, might actually win. But for them the feeling was not one of joy, no sense of triumph for the common man. It was one of fear. This was not part of the script. So she was drawn into an ambush and attacked. One only has to remember the story of another Irish hero, Michael Collins, to understand exactly what went on that day. The royalty must be preserved, the bloodlines must go on, no matter the cost.
So an alleged populist hero sold his soul in a Faustian compact with the power elite. He must be so proud. Sadly, such things happen all the time and history is rife with false icons. Welcome to reality. But we must never forget, painful though the lessons might be, that true belief begins first with self. Believe first in what you know is right and let your own instinct be your guide.
What do we do? Give up? Run away? Support the power elite? I think Granny O'Hagan would look down at me from heaven with a disapproving scowl and remind me of the song of Kevin Barry, that lad of eighteen summers whose death did free Ireland. Kevin Barry, too, was a Republican.
